*Salary: £31,020 – £35,939
Full-Time, Fixed-Term for up to 3 years (subject to achieving set project milestone). Starting salary will be dependant on qualifications / skills and experience.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant based within our Molecular & Biochemical Parasitology Group. The successful candidate will join an active molecular pharmacology and drug discovery group within the PreDiCT-TB consortium which aims to develop innovative experimental in vitro and in vivo pharmacodynamics (PD) and pharmacokinetic (PK) models that more accurately predict clinical efficiency of existing and developing anti-tubercular drugs.
The specific role of this position within the PreDiCT-TB consortium will be to use high content (confocal laser) imaging to develop innovative in vitro PD assays that better predict the clinical efficacy of existing and developing antitubercular drugs.
This post will require experience and knowledge in the relevant areas of microbiology, pharmacology, high content and/or cell imaging, molecular biology and drug development. A PhD in Biomedical Sciences is essential. You will be required to prepare primary data manuscript for international journals and give oral presentations of data at both internal and external conferences so a proven track record would be highly advantageous.
Good communications skills and the ability to be self-motivated and work as an integral and co-operative member of a multi-disciplinary research team are essential.
