job description
(Lab skills) More than 90 peoples is working on prokaryotic and eukaryotic microorganisms (Archaea, Bacteria, Protists, Fungi) and Virus at different levels of integration, from molecular and cellular aspects of the roles of these organisms in ecosystems. Particular attention is given to the development of molecular ecology, in the implementation of genomics and post-genomics tools towards scientific questions related to the functioning of ecosystems, and interdisciplinary approaches. The application fields of this work relate to the environment, including management of water resources soil remediation, and human and animal health. (Known) The design of experiments under standard conditions shows that the unicellular model Paramecium is suitable for ecotoxicological tests. DNA microarray technology retained is NimbleGen. First transcriptomics datas are being analyzed and showed markers of effects and exposure to very low levels of a xenobiotic. (Aims) Achieving a library of transcriptomic signatures from data obtained by analysis of transcripts from Paramecium culture conditions subjected to various pesticides. Marker genes will be confirmed by qPCR analysis. The best candidates will be used to develop rapid tests for polluted environments. Ciliates are genetically modified, it is possible, in the mid-term to build more susceptible strains for the presence of pesticides alone or in combination. (Profile) The profile is very open. We seek appliquants in molecular ecology with a valuable skill in ecotoxicology. Knowledge into genomic data analysis (Blast, Kegg, database ....) is a plus. However, the development of ecotoxicological tests based on transcriptomic variations could attract applicants in cell biology.
