Postdoctoral Positions in Dendritic Cell Immunobiology
Two postdoctoral positions are open in the Department of Microbiology,Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University
of Singapore, to work in an exciting team with focus on theimmunobiology and therapeutic applications of human dendritic
cells. The team is well-funded by the National Medical Research Counciland Biomedical Research Council.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to carry out research ona new type of dendritic cells which have
tolerogenic activities and therapeutic potentials for autoimmunity andchronic inflammation. Specifically, it involves
isolation of monocytes, culturing of dendritic cells, and analysis ofthese cells using a series of established methods in
this laboratory. Transfection of these cells for evaluation intherapeutic applications. The postdoctoral fellows are also
required to develop independent capability in their research projectsand supervision of junior members of the laboratory.
Leadership in project development is strongly encouraged.
Candidates with PhD degrees in immunology, cell biology, molecularbiology, protein chemistry and histology are all
encouraged to apply. Local and overseas training will be provided on theprojects where it is required.
