The post-doc will work within the vascular biophysics group at the Dept of Biomedical Engineering and Physics at the Academic Medical Center

He or she will study the remodelling of collagen and other matrix proteins by vascular smooth muscle cells, using a variety of experimental approaches ranging from gel compaction models to in vitro and in vivo interventions on vascular pressure and flow. The work combines molecular, physiological and biomechanical approaches. We are looking for a post-doc with experience in vascular biology and molecular approaches and an interest in biophysics and biomedical engineering. The candidate should have a track record as first author in peer-reviewed publications and a Ph.D. degree obtained (maximum 5 years research experience from embarking PhD education). ITN regulations further require that the candidate does not have the Dutch nationality and should not have resided in the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the last 3 years. We are offering a contract as a post-doc for 2 years, with salary based on Marie Curie and Dutch regulations. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary and inspiring environment, in a European context with focus on training and deployment. The duration of the project is 2 years. Remuneration is dependent on experience and knowledge and includes 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end of the year allowance.
